
He was a former board member and investor in Global Eco Mall, a Malaysia-based global platform for ESG/sustainability products. He was formerly a Co-Founder and CEO of Zilzar (Malaysia based B2B e-commerce platform) and www.zilzarlife.com.
He was a mentor for McKinsey YLA (Youth Leadership Academy—leadership development program designed for local university students) in 2015/2016 in Malaysia. He is a co-founder of Shekra, Egypt’s first ethical crowd funding platform; an Advisory Board member of Crescenrating, Singapore company in Muslim travel; an Advisor to The Halal Dining Club, Singapore; Board of Trustees member of Hudson Hills Academy, NY.
Rushdi sits on the International Islamic Advisory Committee for Malaysia’s Securities Commission (since 2011). He was on the Dubai International financial Center’s (DIFC) Islamic Finance Advisory Committee from 2007 to 2011. He was the Global Head of Islamic Finance & OIC Countries for Thomson Reuters. Before to Thomson Reuters, he was Global Director of the Dow Jones Islamic Market Index. Rushdi’s contributions have resulted in over 25 international awards.
Rushdi has a Bachelor of Science (BS), Management & Marketing, from New York University, a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), International Business, from Baruch College and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Albany Law School of Union University.
