
Will Cong is professor of Finance at the University of Chicago. He is also a founder, partner, or advisor for several non-profit organizations, education and technology companies, family offices, venture funds, and quant shops. His research interests include corporate and entrepreneurial finance, and financial markets and intermediation. He is also an expert in financial innovation and technology, and China's economy and financial system. He is a recipient of the Shmuel Kandel Award in Financial Economics, Finance Theory Group Best Paper Award, Asian American Award, Lieberman Fellowship, He was a former doctoral fellow at the Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies, a George Shultz Scholar at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, and an academic committee member for the International Physics Olympiad. Will Cong attended Harvard University, majoring in Math and Physics, with a Minor in Economics, a Language Citation in French, and a Master in Physics. He then completed a Master of Statistics and a Ph.D. in Finance at the Stanford University, where he was also active in venture investments.
